Extract from Taipei’s Journal
(I’ve been writing every day since I arrived. It’s already 20.000 words. That’s how you know a new story is about to arrive…)
A lucky day, perhaps?
I woke up at 6:35 from a revealing nightmare. I was on a journey toward Norway and had to take a plane to reach my final destination. At some point in the journey, I stopped to stop by a tree and listened to an audio message an ex-lover had recorded for me. Disturbed, I move on but realize too late that I have left by the tree all of my belongings, including items of baggage and my passport. Arriving at the final airport, the one supposedly leading me to Norway, I figured that I could not travel, as I could not find any of my IDs or papers. It seemed as if, metaphorically, this lover, which had taken a spot in my heart and my mind, consequently paused the entire process of the book. When I woke up, I opened my eyes to a strange email, one of a talent agent from the US asking me if, perhaps, I was currently writing anything fictional. It was 6:40 AM, and I was shaking with fear and surprise.
