But I should not hope, right?
But I should not hope, right?
This room is like a cage where one can always escape
Perfumes of the air melting with smoked breaths,
Crawling sounds of eternal rhymes, you dance,
Time collapses as I wake up again.
The stranger is always evading the room,
Their shapeless body define the landscape,
It’s a gaze that does not know how to return (yet),
A silhouette for the possibilities of pleasure and pain.
But I should not hope, should I?
As the fog melts down, stirred by luck,
And while the shape of their hand gets familiar too,
When the music slows down, it’s finally their voice,
That occupies the room and breaks through.
In the middle of the space, your eyes,
Shed knowledge on my body,
Feeling the void left by every forgotten lie,
Feeling the gaps that every silence held.
This shine, the mist of my world,
Gazing through the million straight of lights,
Recognize a face that seeks to find,
A promising hand that whispers: “Don’t die”.
But I should not hope… Will I?
Your love, this gaze,
The only ally alongside the reasons why I write,
The only proof in the absence of traces and time.
How long can this hold on?
This awareness, the petroleum and drive,
The adventures and the risks, all taken in this light,
The gaze and the blink through the room, undefined,
Murmurs the past tenses we will occupy.
When the flame doesn't know how to remain,
It naps through the myths of a morning dime,
Its gaze suddenly intensifies, the palms become wet,
Knowing that it lost against the race of time.
When the shape is long gone, the fog whispers :
“There will always be…
A new tale to cover the ones amiss,
A new myth to feed you with bliss,
A new gaze until it again, they disappear in the mist.”
But I should not hope, right?
